Intention

Intention:

We are taking a "year Out" with our family in order to deepen our connection to one another by exploring the world together.

This is a trip of a lifetime and will be an education for us all.

I am hoping that spending this time together, uninterrupted by the usual routines of our day to day life will strengthen our relationships, give us the opportunity to learn from each other and learn more about each other.

I know that simply by traveling we will learn in countless ways.

We will be doing a self design home schooling program that I hope will help internalize this learning and support meaningful reflection.

NB TO NS

We all were impressed with the beauty of New Brunswick, rivers everywhere and the beginning of brilliant fall reds. Cape Hopewell was fantastic, the kids squelched mud between their toes and a brilliant rainbow made an appearance making this spot feel more magical then any other we have come across as yet. From Fredericton we crossed the border into Nova Scotia. We splurged on a fine meal in Wolfville, tasting our first bites of Atlantic Seafood. Ruben went wild for the Mussels and our waitress turned out to have lived on Galiano Island and knew a dear friend of ours. September is a superb time to be here, the sun is shining and there are blueberries to be picked right on the side of the road! The air is chilly though, and this morning our fingers froze as we washed dishes in a little brook off in the bush where we pulled over to camp for the night. Tom and the kids went exploring and discovered the grave of a woman named Elizabeth from 1835. They left a bouquet of wild flowers picked from nearby and went on to find more wild blueberries. This morning we are in Mahone Bay and we are making our way toward Lunenburg home of the Blue Nose Schooner (on the dime).
